At a discovery workshop a journey map exercise was used to understand and align the different stakeholders on current process and users. This was later validated & adjusted while conducting user interviews.
Early design iteration, it was used to get early feedback on design direction and functionalities.
Different personas have different paths. The application should provide for each while staying consistent.
